Brake chopper

With a brake chopper, the intermediate circuit voltage in a frequency converter can be monitored and protected against overvoltages. Overvoltages in the intermediate circuit occur, for example, when motors brake. A braking resistor is connected to the braking chopper, which converts the excess energy into thermal energy.
